Learn our story, leadership, and mission shaping manufacturing in Mexico.
Our Approach
Manufacturers who choose Tetakawi save time, lower costs, and carry far less risk expanding into Mexico. The reason is the model: one integrated partner running everything around your factory.
You go from decision to production in months, because the environment already stands.
You share the Campus infrastructure, so your overhead runs lower than going alone.
One contract and one on-site team answerable for the whole environment, instead of handoffs between vendors.
Tetakawi vs Alternatives
Manufacturers weighing Mexico usually see two routes: build a standalone operation and assemble everything from scratch, or work with a traditional shelter provider. A Manufacturing Campus is a third: the same shelter framework, with the building, the teams and the authorizations already in place, so you launch sooner and carry less of the setup risk.
| Standalone Model | Tetakawi Campus Model |
|---|---|
| Buy or build a facility, then connect utilities, security, and permits | Move into Class A space that is ready when you are |
| Recruit and administer a workforce alone, in an unfamiliar labor market | Tetakawi recruits, employs, and administers the workforce assigned to your operation |
| Stand up customs, trade programs, and border logistics yourself | Trade and customs are already operating when your first shipment moves |
| Create and maintain your own Mexican entity, taxes, and filings | Operate under one of Tetakawi's Mexican entities and its IMMEX program |
| Separate vendors, separate bills, Mexico-based contracts | One partner, predictable billing, U.S.-based contracts |
Campus Pillars
Predictable manufacturing in Mexico requires reliable space, people, logistics, and compliance. On a Tetakawi Campus, one partner runs all four, so you don’t have to coordinate a patchwork of vendors.
Set up in a Class A building on a Tetakawi Campus, move-in ready or adapted to your process. Tetakawi runs the Campus and maintains the buildings, so the building is never your project.
Define the roles and the standards, then run the plant. Tetakawi recruits, hires, and employs the people, runs payroll and benefits, and holds the union agreement, so your managers stay on production.
Bring materials in and ship product out with a U.S. broker you select. Tetakawi holds the Mexican import and export permits your shipments move under, and stages your freight at its U.S. cross-docks.
Operate under Tetakawi’s IMMEX shelter program, without forming your own Mexican company. Tetakawi holds the permits and registrations and answers to the authorities for the entity’s filings.
Integrated Services
Our on-site teams help you launch your operation, keep your building running, employ and pay your workforce, move your materials across the border, buy what your plant consumes, and keep your permits, filings and registrations current.

FAQs
The questions we get most often from manufacturers looking at Mexico.
A move-in-ready building, with everything around it already running.
Tetakawi’s own teams run all four on the property. You run the factory.
The legal framework is the same. What surrounds it is not.
Every shelter provider offers the mechanism: you run your own plant under a Mexican entity that holds an IMMEX program, without forming a company of your own. Tetakawi works under that same framework. That is the category, not the difference.
The difference is what is already in place on five Campuses in Sonora, Sinaloa and Coahuila: Class A space Tetakawi runs and maintains, recruiting, HR, import and export and EHS teams on the same property as your plant, employee transportation and controlled-access security, cross-docks in Tucson and McAllen, and manufacturers who have run plants there for ten and twenty years. A shelter arrangement on its own is the legal and administrative framework, and providers package what sits around it differently. A Campus hands you a running environment, and the economies of scale that come with it, under one U.S.-based contract.
No.
You control production, process and quality, and your IP stays yours. You define the roles and the staffing plan, select from the candidates presented, set the standards, and direct, supervise and train the team on your floor. Your equipment, your systems and your certifications are yours.
Tetakawi does not run your lines or make your product. We run the environment around your factory: the entity, the building, the employer’s obligations, the import and export registrations, the permits and the filings. Tetakawi is not a contract manufacturer.
Three to six months to a site ready for your equipment.
Going alone means an entity, permits, a union agreement and every support function, typically eight to eighteen months. On an established Campus, in Tetakawi’s experience, the site is ready for your equipment in three to six months, and in as little as thirty days if you arrive well prepared, because the buildings, the recruiting and the authorizations are already in place. Production start depends on your installation, staffing, validation and approvals, and we map that calendar with you.
Three kinds of cost, from one partner, on a schedule you can plan on.
Operating costs and the shelter fee are invoiced weekly and the space monthly, so you see what was spent, on what, as it happens. Modeling what it would cost to run your operation on a Tetakawi Campus is part of the due diligence we do with you before any commitment.
Four steps, in order.
1. Get in touch. A conversation about what you are hoping to achieve in Mexico, and why now.
2. Measure ROI. We build the business case with you: the full cost of running your operation on a Campus, the risks and the trade-offs, and which Campus fits. If more than one could work, we build both.
3. Site visit. Walk the Campus, meet the people who would run your account, and talk with manufacturers already operating there.
4. Launch and grow. When you give the green light, the same team that helped you build the case guides the launch, and the people who run the Campus are a phone call or a short walk away.
