As the employer of record in our Mexico Manufacturing Communities, Tetakawi Human Resources (HR) teams, in collaboration with our Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) teams provide support and guidance to you to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations of the Mexican Federal Labor Law.

Our HR and EHS Teams are experts in compliance with all Mexican Regulations related to the safety of our employees as stated in the Federal Labor Laws, Civil Protection, and STPS, among others. Each of our Manufacturing Communities have on-site medical clinics that help minimize time away from work for minor occupational related incidences and assist in helping you reach maximum production capacity.

 

Guided Advice on EHS Compliance Requirements

Our EHS teams work closely with you to provide periodic training to you understand the complex requirements of compliance with Federal Workplace Health & Safety, and Civil and Environmental Protection Regulations in order to establish best practices for occupational health and safety in your facilities, including risk management and contingency planning.

 

Start-Up Permits and Related Documentation

Obtaining start-up permits and other documentation from the Local, State and Federal government agencies to comply with Mexican EHS regulations is a vital step in initiating operations in our manufacturing communities. Tetakawi’s EHS teams act as the liaison between you and the authorities to obtain the required permits and licenses in order to expedite the start-up process for our Clients. These include:

  • Environmental Impact Assessment Report: The EHS team coordinates with you to determine the impact of production processes on the environment, and a report is registered with the proper authorities. The assessment includes:
    • Atmospheric emissions
    • Hazardous waste
    • Urban waste
    • Special handling waste
    • Residual water discharge
  • Operating Permit for Production: This includes information such as:
    • Machinery and equipment layout
    • List of raw materials and chemicals used in production and maintenance operations
    • Pollution control
    • Waste material generated

 

Periodic Monitoring of Compliance with EHS Regulations

Periodic monitoring and annual internal audits are conducted by the EHS team to verify compliance with environmental, civil protection, workplace health and safety, public health and other normative requirements. The internal audits are designed as a preventive measure to emulate external audits conducted by the regulatory agencies in order to discover any discrepancies or gaps in compliance with the regulations.  The findings are reviewed with you, and the EHS Team assists in implementing appropriate corrective actions to prevent recurrence and to prepare for successful external audits with the regulatory authorities.

 

Environmental Inspections and Audits by Regulatory Bodies

External audits and inspections may be conducted at any time, scheduled or unscheduled, by the regulatory agencies such as SEMARNAT, CONAGUA, CEDES, CEA, PROTECCIÓN CIVIL, STPS, and PROFEPA, among others. The EHS team experts are always prepared to physically accompany you and provide technical and legal support during external audits. The EHS team works as an intermediary between you and the regulatory agencies to manage and respond to external audits and inspections.

 

Reporting and Record-keeping

Regulatory agencies require that records be kept as evidence of compliance and for reporting purposes. The EHS team maintains pertinent records as required by the governmental agencies that include:

  • Annual Operations Report: This report is submitted annually to confirm that your plant is operating as stated on the operating license and must mention if any changes have been made to production.
  • Hazmat Reporting: This report details registration as an operation that generates hazardous waste and must list all types and quantities of hazardous waste generated by the manufacturing process and maintain all corresponding SDS.
  • Biannual Report of Hazardous and & Non-Hazardous Residue
  • Annual Emissions Report
  • Residual Water Analysis
  • Management and follow up of the internal occupational health and safety program established in the Client Facility as required by Civil Protection and other regulatory authorities.

On-Site Medical Facilities

Each manufacturing community has an on-site medical facility staffed with physicians and nurses, and also has the capacity to provide immediate medical care, new hire screening, emergency care, and if needed transportation to a nearby hospital via our ambulance service.

The clinics are also equipped to dispense commonly used medicines and provide required immunizations in collaboration with the Social Security Institute by the attending physician.

 

Preventive Health Care and Education

The medical staff in the manufacturing communities also assist you in establishing preventive health care plans and educational programs on topics such as diabetes, hypertension, reproductive health, alcoholism, drug addiction, and work-related safety measures.
